Mercado González Concept Coming To Northgate’s La Habra Store

The reimagined market will blend grocery shopping with authentic Mexican food, artisan goods and gathering spaces.

The grocer marked the opening on Nassau County’s North Shore by donating $100,000 to Cohen Children’s Medical Center.

The grocer’s Kentucky growth continues with the store in the Highlands neighborhood of Louisville, to be known as Publix at Mid City Market.

Among the store’s features is a “Local Favorites” endcap featuring Southeast Michigan products such as Downriver Chips and Faygo Soda.

The 48,000-square-foot location at Greatwood Marketplace is projected to open in early 2028.

More household, wellness and nutrition products were also part of the transformation of the location.

The North Carolina-based grocer announced plans earlier this year to convert the former Kj’s Market into a full-service Lowes Foods.
