Supervalu-owned Hornbacher’s, in partnership with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of Grand Forks, North Dakota, delivered 2,500 reusable shopping bags filled with a variety of items valued at $35 per bag to neighbors residing near its new store located at 2771 32nd Avenue South. The Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts stuffed the bags Saturday and delivered the bags to homes Sunday.

The Girl Scouts who took part in the delivery are from Dakota Horizons Council Troop 34001, and the Boy Scouts are from Troop 13 of the Northern Lights Council. In return for the help from the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, Hornbacher’s donated $1,500 to each organization that will go toward their 2016 summer camp programs.

The bag drop served as a thank you to nearby residents, and the partnership and donation to the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts highlights Hornbacher’s ongoing commitment to the local community, according to the grocer.
