Modesto, California-based Save Mart Supermarkets reportedly will close two struggling stores in the Sacramento area by March 19, the Fresno Bee reports. Additionally, the chain plans to close an S-Mart store in Stockton and Save Mart stores in San Jose and Santa Clara by the end of March.

A Save Mart spokesperson told the Bee that the Sacramento area stores slated for closure are at 2735 Marconi Avenue in the Town & Country Village shopping center in Sacramento and at 8839 Greenback Lane in Orangevale. About 50 people are employed at each store.

“We are working very hard to get them jobs at other stores,” the spokesperson told the newspaper.

Save Mart Supermarkets operates more than 200 stores in California and Nevada.
