A Kroger Marketplace opens Wednesday, April 13, as part of the first phase of the Woodshore Marketplace in Clute, Texas—an approximately 140,000-s.f. shopping center at the southeast corner of Oyster Creek Drive and Dixie Drive within the master-planned Woodshore community near Houston.

As the anchor for Woodshore Marketplace, the 124,000-s.f. Kroger Marketplace features a selection of fresh foods coupled with apparel and shoes, furnishings, home goods, small appliances as well as a Kroger Fuel Center and Kroger Pharmacy. In addition to the Kroger anchor, Woodshore Marketplace will feature a first phase of 16,450 s.f. of in-line space, set to open later this spring, along with three pad sites for freestanding concepts.

Steve Chandler, city partner for Cencor Realty Services in Houston, is directing development of the community center. Randy Hopper and Kyle Knight with The Weitzman Group are the exclusive leasing agents for Woodshore Marketplace.

The men say the Woodshore Marketplace will benefit from the powerful draw of its anchor and its prime location in a trade area with growth and strong incomes. Within a three-mile radius of the center, the population totals 43,955 in 15,998 households with an average household income of $76,503.

In addition, Dow Chemical operates a 4,200-employee facility in the immediate area, with plans for another 2,000 jobs in 2016. The master-planned Woodshore community features homes in the $200,000 to $1 million range.
