Marketing Management Inc. To Celebrate 50-Year Milestone

This July, Marketing Management Inc. (MMI) will celebrate its 50th year of business. MMI represents hundreds of manufacturers that produce consumer goods for distribution through large chain grocery stores, independent grocery stores, mass merchandising stores, hardware stores, drug stores and dollar stores.

Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, MMI was founded in 1966 by Mary and Herb Pease Sr. As was the nature of the food brokerage business in 1966, without cell phones and email, Herb spent many nights on the road traveling the U.S. highways selling numerous products, while Mary took care of the office. They were both service-oriented continuing to look for ways to serve their principals and clients and worked hard together to build a business. Their entrepreneurial attitude continues with MMI and its affiliated companies today.

MMI is a comprehensive provider of services to the CPG and retail trade. These services include sales management, store level retail merchandising, trade fund management, brand development, consumer research, sensory testing, consumer response, media advertising, consumer level marketing and promotion, video production, package design, and a host of social media solutions.

Today, the company has three wholly owned subsidiaries:

  • MMI Professional Services Inc. provides brand development services through its trade name of Immotion Studios and consumer research and product testing services through its trade name Consumer Science.
  • MMI Market Solutions Inc. helps bring brands to market across the U.S. in most channels of trade.
  • MMI Business Advisors Inc. provides investment banking services for the clients it represents.

With these businesses together, MMI is able to seamlessly manage and grow the sales of its client’s brands across many channels of trade. “But the work enjoyed most by our management team is helping clients grow their business through new points of distribution and growing case sale year after year,” said Randy Hurr, president of MMI.

Looking ahead, MMI will continue helping their clients meet the demands of an ever-changing marketplace. “MMI will continue expanding their resources and services, and evolving to meet the needs of their clients,” said Herb Pease Jr., chairman and CEO.

The company will celebrate the milestone with a July 20 event in Fort Worth.
