Laurel Grocery Co. this week hosted its August Trade Show—“Building Brands Together”—at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.
The London-based wholesaler recognized several retailers with awards, including Martin Cox of Cox Foods, which operates 10 stores in Kentucky, and Jamie Ritchie of Ritchie’s Marketplace in Piketon, Ohio, with Retailer of the Year honors. Cox Foods also was recognized for making more than $5 million in purchases from Laurel Grocery Co.
Others who were recognized include:
• Brookville IGA and Sunman IGA, Joe Jester—$4 million in purchases;
• Carol Schuler, Townsend IGA—Store Manager of the Year;
• Durhams Grocery, Joe and Robin Crain—$3 million in purchases;
• Eric Bischoff, Brookville IGA—Meat Manager of the Year;
• Inez IGA Warfield IGA, Brad Pack and Judy Ousley—More than $5 million in purchases;
• Liberty IGA, Scott Blair—$4 million in purchases;
• McMakens IGA, Bill Price—$3 million in purchases;
• Media Solutions, Jim Lukens—Vendor Partner of the Year;
• Prairie Farms, Greg Whitaker—Vendor of the Year;
• Renae Ampaya, McMaken’s IGA—Deli Manager of the Year;
• Retail Marketing Corp. (four IGAs, two non-IGAs), Doug Rowe—More than $5 million in purchases;
• Shirley Dalton, Liberty IGA—Produce Manager of the Year;
• Struther’s IGA, Judy Gabriele—$4 million in purchases; and
• Winner’s Stores, Brad Winner—$3 million in purchases.
