Hannaford Launches 10 EV Charging Stations, And More…

Hannaford Supermarkets has launched 10 fast-charging electric vehicle stations at stores in Maine and in Greater Albany, New York. The five Maine locations are the first major retail sites in the state to offer electric vehicle owners the chance to charge up their cars while they shop. The Maine locations are in Portland (Forest Avenue), South Portland (Maine Mall), Topsham, York and Augusta (Whitten Road.) The five New York locations, opened as part of the Nissan/EVgo partnership, are located in Guilderland, Troy, Voorheesville, Albany and Wynantskill. Hannaford’s  DC Fast Chargers allow vehicles to significantly recharge their batteries within 20 minutes. The charger is available to all people with electric vehicles, and users can pay for the electricity with their EVgo account or a credit or debit card at the charger. Hannaford now has 15 charging stations in Maine, Vermont and New York, including sites at its corporate headquarters in Scarborough and the store in Camden…

Supervalu has entered into a definitive agreement whereby an affiliate of Onex Corp. will acquire Supervalu’s Save- A-Lot business for $1.365 billion in cash, subject to customary closing adjustments. In connection with the sale, Supervalu and Save-A-Lot will enter into a five-year professional services agreement. The sale of Save-A-Lot is expected to be completed by Jan. 31, 2017, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions…

Adams Farm Slaughterhouse, Athol, Massachusetts, is recalling beef, veal and bison products that may be contaminated with E. coli. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said the beef products originated from animals slaughtered on July 15, 25 and 27, 2016, and Aug. 3, 8, 10, 11, 17, 24 and 26, 2016, and further processed and packed on various dates between July 21 and Sept. 22, 2016. These items were shipped to farmers markets, retail locations and restaurants in Massachusetts, Connecticut and eastern New York. The products may have been shipped to neighboring states in the immediate area. Based on the investigation, several patients have been identified in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and West Virginia with illness onset dates ranging from June 27-Sept. 4. Traceback information indicated that five patients consumed beef products supplied by Adams Farms Slaughterhouse.
