Bulk Nation, the Tampa-based bulk food specialty grocer, opened its sixth store on Monday—in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
“We’ve been looking at the area for a while,” said Bulk Nation President Clay Donato. “We think Bulk Nation is a good fit for Tarpon Springs.”
The Tarpon Springs store is located at 41232 U.S. Highway 19 North in Tarpon Square.
By buying bulk, customers have the advantage to purchase in the quantity they want as most products are sold by weight, according to Donato.
“Without the overhead of the packaging, it also saves the customer money,” he added.
Recent grand openings result in $4K total donations to community YMCAs
In related news, Bulk Nation has donated $2,000 of sales, respectively, to both the Clearwater and Lakeland YMCAs from its Clearwater and Lakeland store grand openings.
“Our partnership with the Y is important to us,” said Donato, who is board chairman of the Brandon YMCA. “Every Y in each of the communities we do business in has financial needs. We want to do our part. It’s a ‘win win’ for the Y and Bulk Nation.”
Founded in 2013, Bulk Nation says it carries an extensive selection of quality bulk food products at low prices. The retailer says customers can expect a unique experience with more than 3,000 bulk specialty food items, including dried fruits, nuts and vegetables, as well as spices, coffees, teas, ancient grains and candy.
In addition to its new Tarpon Springs store, the company has Florida stores in Brandon, Clearwater, Lakeland, Largo and Orlando. In January 2017, store openings are scheduled for Kissimmee and Clermont.
