Stonyfield Organic, Londonderry, New Hampshire, has become a Certified B Corporation, joining a global community of businesses committed to higher standards of social and environmental practices.
B Lab—the verifying body behind B Corp—conducted an evaluation of Stonyfield and its products to ensure they met or exceeded the group’s comprehensive standards. Certified B Corporations are legally required to consider the impact of its decisions on employees, suppliers, consumers, the community and environment.
Exemplifying Stonyfield’s investment in this work, Nichole Cirillo recently joined the company in the newly created position of mission director.
Cirillo comes to Stonyfield following an extensive career in the corporate social responsibility arena, most recently as the international director of strategic partnerships for the Earthwatch Institute. Cirillo brings to the company expertise in developing and growing social programs that leverage resources and deepen impact, according to Stonyfield.
