Brookshire Brothers Relocates Express Store In Valley Mills, Texas

Brookshire Brothers moved its Valley Mills, Texas, operations to a new store at 902 Avenue C on Wednesday. The new Brookshire Brothers Express features fresh meat and produce, a hot deli with daily specials, Western Union, money orders and a full-service courtesy booth.

Store Director Wes Thiele is a Valley Mills native with more than 20 years of grocery experience, including nearly three years at the Valley Mills Brookshire Brothers Express location. He welcomed customers to the new store Wednesday during a ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration. He also introduced Tori Smith, assistant store director. The Valley Mills store employs about 30 people, including local high school students.

Employee-owned Brookshire Brothers operates 115 retail outlets to include grocery stores and convenience stores as well as free-standing tobacco, pharmacy and petro locations. Its footprint stretches east to Lake Charles, Louisiana, west to Dublin, Texas, north to Whitesboro, Texas, and south to Ganado, Texas. The company recently celebrated its 95th birthday and says it has plans to expand.
