Metropolitan Market has named Ron Megahan CEO.
The Seattle-based grocer says that Megahan, previously the company’s COO, has been an instrumental part of the executive leadership team for the past two years and worked closely with Todd Korman, who previously held the chief executive position. Korman remains an active company shareholder and will serve as an advisor to the company in support of the transition. Chairman Terry Halverson also will continue his mentorship of the CEO position.
Korman led Metropolitan Market through its most rapid expansion period in company history; he played a key role in building the company’s strong leadership position in the Pacific Northwest during his 15-year tenure.
“Todd skillfully led the team with passion and excitement, and helped to build a company poised for growth,” said Halverson. “It has been a pleasure having him as both a colleague and friend, and we wish him well in all his future endeavors.

In his role as COO, Megahan played a critical role in the company’s growth, merchandising innovation, store operations and expanded team member product knowledge. With nearly 30 years of experience in the grocery, natural and specialty food industries, Megahan is known for maintaining his customer-driven focus while excelling in operational management, team development, and strategic growth and expansion.
Metropolitan Market recently opened its seventh store in Sammamish, Washington, with plans to roll out new online and delivery services later this year.
