Robert (Bob) Jones of Nestlé Purina will receive NEWFDA’s 2017 Person of the Year Award at the group’s convention in November. NEWFDA, short for NorthEast Wholesale Food Distributors Association, helps distributors, wholesalers, manufacturers and brokers network with top executives in the food distribution industry.
Jones has worked in the consumer packaged goods industry for 43 years, starting with National Fruit in 1974 as a procurement manager. He was then promoted to the sales-marketing department, moving on to Ralston Purina in 1987 and Nestlé Purina in 2000.
He has received numerous industry awards during his career, been a civic leader for many years and has served on several boards, including the executive board for NEWFDA. Jones graduated from Shepherd University with a marketing degree and received his executive management degree from Cornell University.
“Bob’s unwavering dedication, passion and many contributions to NEWFDA are just some of the reasons his peers have overwhelmingly nominated him to receive this prestigious award,” said NEWFDA Director Kevin Griffin of The Griffin Report.
The NEWFDA convention will be held Nov. 2-5 in Naples, Florida.
