Kings Food Markets and Balducci’s Food Lover’s Market have named Jim Moriarty as CFO. Moriarty joins Kings and Balducci’s with more than 18 years of financial and accounting experience in the retail industry and will be responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting teams as well as loss prevention.

Moriarty spent the past 11 years working for Walmart in the Northeast division, and in his most recent role, he supported finance and strategy for Walmart operations and acted as divisional CFO. Additional roles Moriarty held with Walmart include senior director for operations and finance and strategy supporting consumables and health and wellness.
Previously, Moriarty spent seven years with Sears Holding Co. as a senior manager for channel strategy and performance and as a senior financial manager of corporate planning. A former member of the U.S. Army National Guard, Moriarty also holds two master’s degrees from Northwestern University—one in information technology and one in strategy and management.
He is in the process of earning his third master’s in predictive analytics and is pursuing the chartered financial analyst designation. He received his MBA and BBA from the University of Iowa.
Based in Parsippany, New Jersey, Kings is an upscale food market serving customers throughout New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. Balducci’s describes itself as a gourmet specialty food shop. It has stores in New York, Connecticut, Maryland and Virginia, with Gourmet On the Go café locations in New York City and Baltimore.
