Locai Solutions of Denver has signed Angelo Caputo’s Fresh Markets as its newest client. Caputo’s, a family-owned grocery chain founded in 1958, operates seven stores in the Chicagoland area, as well as an online shopping offering. In partnership with locai, Caputo’s will launch a new e-grocery website, which will be fully integrated with locai’s Fulfillment Management System to streamline order fulfillment.
“As veterans of the e-grocery space, I trust the locai team to bring the same level of excellence to our online experience as we offer in-store. The level of personalization in this platform I believe really takes online shopping to a new level,” said Robertino Presta, Caputo’s CEO.
The new e-commerce platform will showcase locai’s meal planning solution, which facilitates a personalized shopping experience tailored to a customer’s cart items, past purchases, dietary preferences and more. The learning algorithm will suggest recipes and products to shoppers, taking into account sale items, favorite brands and even scale ingredients based on portion size.
In addition, locai’s fulfillment management system will allow Caputo’s to operate a multi-format fulfillment model, enabling a variety of options for execution and delivery.
“We are excited to be able to use our platform to bring to life the fantastic product assortment Caputo’s offers in their stores, as well as drive operational efficiencies to their order fulfillment,” said Scott DeGraeve, locai’s COO. “They have an exceptional reputation in the Chicagoland area and we are excited to translate that to their digital offering.”
The new site for customer shopping is expected to be live in April.
Founded by e-grocery veterans from FreshDirect and Peapod, locai says it is the first company to offer a full suite of software that integrates an e-commerce platform with a fulfillment management system.
