Ohio Grocers Association Restyles Its Trade Relations Gala

Ohio Grocers Brown Bag Celebration

The Ohio Grocers Association’s Brown Bag Celebration is scheduled for April 6 at Nationwide Hotel & Conference Center in Columbus. The annual event formerly was called the OGA Trade Relations Gala. This year’s celebration introduces the new concept in an effort to provide more opportunity for retail and associate members to connect.

The new celebration also is vendor-focused with food and fare. Food “Action Stations” will be arranged throughout the venue for attendees to sample while networking, along with small-plate dishes served for seated eating.

The traditional silent auction will be replaced with a new Brown Bag Auction. Also, a Brown Bag Bottle Pull has been added. Attendees will “pull” a bottle of their choice from the racks (one for wine and one for bourbon) to see what they will take home.

The celebration also calls for a new meeting format, with a brief message from the podium and awards presentations and videos in short-program form.

Award winners for 2019 include:

• Small Operator Pinnacle Award—Sky Plaza IGA; and

• Associate Award—Crimson Cup Coffee & Tea.

The registration deadline is March 27. Visit ohiogrocers.org for more information or to register.
