Brooklyn-based Key Food Stores Co-Operative Inc., a chain of primarily independently owned and corporate grocery stores, will open its newest Dumbo Market location at 66 Front Street in Brooklyn on Friday, April 26. To celebrate, Dumbo Market is hosting a grand opening celebration at 10 a.m.
Congressmember Nydia Velazquez and Key Food executives including CEO Dean Janeway, COO George Knobloch, CFA Sharon Konzelman, CIO Tammy Teague and VP of Business Development John Durante will all be in attendance. The grand opening celebration will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony as well as free vendor sampling.
“Dumbo Market is a perfect example of the kind of unique stores that make up our diverse family of supermarkets. Moe and his team have worked tirelessly to create a wonderful grocery experience for the people of Brooklyn,” said Durante.
At 16,000 square feet, this new Dumbo Market will have a meat department with a butcher onsite to provide fresh cuts, as well as a fresh seafood department and a produce department with organic options. Customers will also enjoy an in-store pizzeria and a food court. Dumbo Market’s deli department will feature a full line of Boars Head products, as well as catering, sushi and other grab-and-go items. This store will offer customers a range of specialty craft beers to choose from.

Key Food Stores Co-Operative was founded in Brooklyn in 1937, and it includes more than 270 primarily member-owned and corporate grocery stores with $2.7 billion in annual sales. In addition to Key Food, these stores operate under various other banners including: Food Universe, The Food Emporium, SuperFresh, Food Dynasty and Gala Foods Supermarkets in all five boroughs, Long Island, upstate New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
