Ingles Markets raised $5,021 for the American Cancer Society‘s Coaches vs. Cancer Campaign through customer donations.
Representatives from Ingles presented a check to the American Cancer Society on May 28 at the Ingles store at 8004 Warren H. Abernathy Highway in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
During the month of January, Ingles customers purchased Coaches vs. Cancer icons during checkout at all Ingles stores throughout the Southeast. Ingles customers purchased the icons for $1 in memory of someone they wanted to honor and raised a total of $5,021 which will directly further cancer research.
Ingles Markets also partnered with the American Cancer Society for Suits & Sneakers at the University of North Carolina at Asheville along with the Strike Out Hunger Program at Wofford College.
“Ingles is honored to help fight cancer and to incorporate our various social marketing programs to this mission,” said Melissa Leavell, director of advertising.
“We are extremely grateful to Ingles for joining the Coaches vs, Cancer team!” said Executive Director for the American Cancer Society in Western North Carolina and South Carolina, Megan Nelson. “Everyone has a cancer connection and every dollar counts. Raising funds and allowing customers to honor those fighting cancer or those they have lost is a meaningful way to allow Ingles patrons to take action to help the American Cancer Society fight cancer from every angle.”
