Giant’s A+ School Rewards Program Gives $3 Million Away

A+ School Rewards, Giant

Giant Food Stores, headquartered in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, donated $3 million to more than 2,200 public and private schools through its A+ School Rewards program. The annual, customer-driven school fundraising program helps local schools raise money for educational programs, field trips, scholarships, playgrounds and more by grocery shopping.

“Across the communities we serve, schools and teachers are doing amazing work to help their students thrive, both now and in the future, but they can’t – and shouldn’t – do it alone,” said Matt Simon, VP of marketing. “By engaging our customers in our A+ School Rewards program, we’re able to provide much-needed support to local schools, helping to ensure students have an opportunity to soar both in and outside the classroom.”

Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, was the overall top earning school for the 2018-2019 school year receiving $16,851.

The remaining Pennsylvania schools include:

• William Davis Elementary School, Southampton: $16,164
• Elmwood Elementary School, Mechanicsburg: $15,676
• Bear Creek School, Elizabethtown: $11,061
• Avon Grove High School, West Grove: $10,663
• Saint Joseph School, Mechanicsburg: $10,567
• North Coventry Elementary School, Pottstown: $10,543
• Governor Wolf Elementary School, Bethlehem: $9,486
• Spring Ford Intermediate School, Royersford: $9,264
• Dallastown Area Intermediate School, York: $8,930

“Participation from schools and customers alike continue to grow our A+ School Rewards program. Since its launch in 2005, more than $33 million has been awarded to local schools to fund a variety of educational needs and activities,” said Simon.

Each fall, customers can sign up and designate up to two schools to benefit from their purchases. A+ School Rewards points are then accrued with each purchase made using a Bonus Card throughout the school year.
