Sprouts Farmers Market will open its new store in Bel Air, Maryland, on July 10. It will be the third Sprouts in the state.
Sprouts will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new location at 680 Marketplace Drive before doors open at 7 a.m. The public is invited to join the festivities and shop among thousands of items offered throughout the 33,000-plus-s.f. store.
The first 200 shoppers will receive 20 percent off their initial total purchase, and muffin and coffee samples will be served to everyone in line before the doors open. Every customer on grand opening day will receive one free reusable bag with purchase.
Bel Air shoppers will enjoy a selection of fresh produce at the center of the store, display cases at the Butcher Shop and Fish Market emphasize the department’s knowledgeable service where in-house butchers assist with custom cuts, handcraft sausages and offer meat and seafood seasoning. The Market Corner Deli in the enhanced store will feature a detached, rectangular island to optimize customer service and convenience with offerings such as made-to-order sandwiches, a salad bar, prepared foods, sushi made in-store and fresh juice. Sprouts’ bulk department is enhanced with a larger selection of items, including loose teas and coffee beans, freshly ground nut butters, local honey and staples like nuts, grains and trail mixes all sold by the pound.
The Bel Air store will offer locally made products from brands such as Lord Byron’s Honey, Michele’s Granola, Toto’s Authentic, Trickling Springs Creamery and Wild Kombucha.
As part of Sprouts’ commitment to “zero waste,” the new store will donate unsold and edible groceries to the Maryland Food Bank through the grocer’s Food Rescue program. In 2018, Sprouts stores and distribution centers donated 27 million pounds of product, equivalent to 23 million meals. Food that is not fit for donation is provided to local cattle farms and composting facilities.
Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Sprouts employs more than 30,000 team members and operates 325-plus stores in 21 states from coast to coast.
