Sprouts Farmers Market will open its first store in Jacksonville, Florida, on Wednesday, July 10.

Sprouts will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new 30,000-s.f. location at 4873 Town Center Parkway before doors open at 7 a.m. The public is invited to join the festivities.

The first 200 shoppers will receive 20 percent off their initial total purchase and muffin and coffee samples will be served to everyone in line before the doors open. Every customer on grand opening day will receive one free reusable bag with purchase.

Weekend guests are invited to explore new natural and organic products during Taste of Sprouts on Saturday, July 13, when guest favorite and trending items, including a selection of exclusive Sprouts Brand products, will be sampled throughout the store.

The store will feature Sprouts’ newest operational and design enhancements that highlight department destinations and promote customer engagement. In addition to the abundant selection of fresh produce at the center of the store, eye-catching display cases at the Butcher Shop and Fish Market emphasize the department’s knowledgeable service where in-house butchers assist with custom cuts, handcraft sausages and offer meat and seafood seasoning. The Market Corner Deli in the enhanced store will feature a detached, rectangular island to optimize customer service and convenience with offerings such as made-to-order sandwiches, a salad bar, prepared foods, sushi made in-store and fresh juice. Sprouts’ Bulk Department is enhanced with a larger selection of items, including loose teas and coffee beans, freshly-ground nut butters, local honey and staples like nuts, grains and trail mixes all sold by the pound.

Local selection and zero waste

The Jacksonville store will offer locally made products from brands such as Bee Haven Honey, Kombucha 221 BC, Old Florida Gourmet and Pinellas Chocolate.

As part of Sprouts’ commitment to “zero waste,” the new store will donate unsold and edible groceries to Feeding Northeast Florida through the grocer’s Food Rescue program.

In 2018, Sprouts stores and distribution centers donated 27 million pounds of product, equivalent to 23 million meals. Food that is not fit for donation is provided to local cattle farms and composting facilities. Sprouts’ evolving “zero waste” initiatives help minimize food waste while reducing the impact of hunger and the company’s environmental footprint.

Sprouts Farmers Market Inc. specializes in fresh, natural and organic products. Based on the belief that healthy food should be affordable, Sprouts’ welcoming environment and knowledgeable team members continue to drive its growth. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Sprouts employs more than 30,000 team members and operates more than 325 stores in 21 states from coast to coast.
