Refrigerated Foods Association (RFA) will have Joe Theismann as the keynote speaker for its 40th Anniversary Conference in February 2020.
Theismann was selected as the NFL’s Man of the Year in 1982 for his community service and dedication to the health and welfare of children. In 1983, he won the league’s Most Valuable Player Award, leading the Redskins to a second consecutive Super Bowl appearance. Theismann’s career ended abruptly in 1985 after sustaining a badly broken leg during a football game against the New York Giants on national television. In 2003, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and in 2013 received the Walter Camp Football Foundation “Distinguished American” Award.
With every chapter of his life, Theismann evolved from athlete to the ultimate businessman. An Emmy award winning analyst, business man and athlete, he utilizes his gifts, talent and high energy to share his strategies for handling unforeseen change.
The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando, Florida, Feb. 23-26. In addition to Theismann’s keynote presentation, the conference will feature notable speakers including Jean-Yves Durocher, EVP at R3D International; Park Plank, senior business development manager at Dot Foods; Brett Bauer, SVP and Pacific Northwest practice leader at Woodruff Sawyer; and an expert panel discussion on technical topics.
The RFA comprises chilled food manufacturers and their suppliers from the U.S. and Canada, to advance and safeguard the industry. The RFA’s mission is “to serve as the principal association for prepared refrigerated food companies.” The RFA offers four main membership categories: Manufacturer, Associate (equipment, packaging, ingredient and service suppliers), Professional/Academic and Affiliate Members.
The RFA’s 2020 conference will feature a tabletop display and the association’s unique one-on-one CEO sessions, whereby suppliers sign up to meet with the CEOs of their choice for 10- minute sessions. In addition, golfers are invited to participate in the annual tournament, which will take place at the Hyatt Regency’s Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course. Networking opportunities are plentiful over the three-day event, which also will include a 40th anniversary celebration at Universal Studios, awards and entertainment.
