Tom Bachmann will join Shelby Publishing Co. as VP of the Southeast region on Aug. 1.
Bachmann joins Shelby Publishing, the Gainesville, Georgia-based publisher of The Shelby Reports and The Griffin Report of the Northeast, with a strong background in the trade publication business. His career has spanned more than 35 years, primarily covering the food and beverage industries.
During much of his career, he was the publisher of leading publications within the dairy and beverage industries. He has been active in many of the industries’ trade associations, including the American Beverage Association and the International Bottled Water Association. He also has sat on some of their advisory boards and legislative committees. As a publisher, Bachmann has been a speaker at many of the associations’ meetings and awards ceremonies as well as producer and supplier companies’ regional and national sales meetings.
He resides in Punta Gorda, Florida, and will be based there in his new role with The Shelby Report. His responsibilities include “traveling the 11-state Southeast region as he grows advertising and marketing partnerships, advances readership and explores industry collaborations,” said Ron Johnston, publisher.
Bachmann, whose hobbies include boating and golf, has five grown children and seven grandchildren that he “enjoys immensely.”
