Fareway opening, Monmouth, Illinois

Fareway held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 30 for a new store at 1181 North 6th Street in Monmouth, Illinois. The independent grocer says the 21,000-s.f. store has a full-service butcher counter and offers competitive prices as well as a high level of customer service, including to-your-car carryout.

“We are excited for this new store and look forward to serving the area residents with our unmatched meat departments and exceptional customer service,” said Fareway President and CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “Thanks to Monmouth College and the City of Monmouth for their partnership in making this project possible.”

“Monmouth College is pleased to have worked with Fareway, helping expand grocery options available to our students, faculty and staff,” said Monmouth College VP for Finance and Business Richard Marshall.

“Today has been greatly anticipated, and we are extremely excited to welcome Fareway to our community,” said Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Amy Patterson.

The store is managed by Grocery Manager Brian Riley and Market Manager Greg Stephens.

Fareway Stores operates 126 stores in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
