Mars Seeds of Change Accelerator Welcomes Plant-Based ForaButter

ForaButter Mars Seeds of Change Accelerator

Fora recently was invited to join the first Seeds of Change Accelerator class by Mars. Known for its ForaButter (formerly FabaButter), this Elohi Strategic Advisors client is growing its plant-based butter at a rapid speed while promoting environmentally friendly eating.

The kick-off Seeds of Change Accelerator (SOCA) class was selected from more than 200 applicants. Of them, 10 organizations were given the opportunity to pitch their business and explain how it shares the Mars company mission of “Better Food Today. A Better World Tomorrow.” through commitments such as plant-based and responsible eating. Six sustainable businesses were selected for the program, including Fora. In addition to an individualized four-month program to fast-track the company’s growth, Fora was awarded a $50,000 grant from Mars.

“We are grateful and elated to join the first Seeds of Change Accelerator class with Mars,” said Aidan Altman, Fora CEO and co-founder. “The ForaButter team is committed to crafting a chef-approved product that is better for consumers and the environment. The opportunity to work alongside industry leaders who share that dedication will help us reach—and expand—our product’s potential.”

Prior to its SOCA success, Fora has been seen in headlines and restaurants nationwide thanks to its innovative, plant-based butter. Its signature product—ForaButter—tastes and behaves exactly like traditional butter but has just 25 percent of the carbon footprint. ForaButter is a gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan, soy-free, clean label product approved by chefs for spreading, baking or melting.

“It only takes one taste of ForaButter to realize it is better than butter,” says Elohi founder and Chairman of the Board Stephanie Lind. “This melt-in-your-mouth product is a must-have for consumers and industry professionals across the country. The team at Mars clearly sees what we see in Fora: a brand that is about to become a household name.”

Elohi Strategic Advisors is a national, woman-owned advisory firm. Based in Marion, Illinois, Elohi employs a team of experts across the country to assist natural and sustainable foodservice brands in distribution and growth. A percentage of all Elohi operating income is donated to organizations that support indigenous people and establish nutritious programs for children and seniors. The team at Elohi believes that the only way to change the world is to change the way the world eats.

Brooklyn-based Fora created ForaButter in 2018. In addition to a smaller carbon footprint, ForaButter features a taste, functionality and convenience superior to its animal-based counterparts. By reimagining traditional butter, Fora aims to achieve a necessary positive environmental impact at a global scale. ForaButter (formerly FabaButter) is the only butter alternative endorsed by Michelin-starred chefs and is available for national foodservice distribution across the United States and Canada.
