Resnick Supermarket Equipment Inc., a family-owned remanufacturing company and parent company to Supermarket Parts Warehouse based in Woodridge, New York, plans to manufacture refrigerated case shelving through a new business, Real Steel.
“Real Steel shelves are built like shelves were built 20 years ago,” said Mark Resnick, COO of Supermarket Parts Warehouse. “Rather than use value engineering to reduce the cost of the shelf, we use real steel to give stores greater longevity for their investment.”
The replacement shelves are manufactured in the Real Steel facility, also located in Woodridge, and are built with food-safe aluminum price tag moldings and finished with a highly durable and food-safe powder coatings. They are fashioned to fit into the leading brands of refrigerated cases such as Hussmann, Hill, Kysor-Warren, Tyler and Zero Zone, and can carry up to 30 percent more weight than its leading competitors.
“We have ample knowledge of the supermarket industry’s needs, the quality of our product, the quality of our service, our low costs, and first-hand experience with the retail space, so we are confident that our customers will find our new product to be of great value,” said Resnick.
Though the facility utilizes automated machinery, Real Steel has created nine jobs for area residents. The combination of automated machines and personnel produces a quicker turn-around time for distribution to clients. Supermarket Parts Warehouse is the master distributor for Real Steel shelves and ships products across the U.S. and Canada.
