Troy, Ohio-based Peak Foods LLC, a manufacturer of frozen whipped topping for the retail and food service markets, has acquired Blendtopia, a startup company based in Nashville that makes nutritionally rich superfood smoothies available at select retail outlets and online.
Blendtopia founder Tiffany Taylor will join the Peak Foods team to coordinate sales, marketing and product development for the smoothie line. The Peak Foods team will assume manufacturing and operations responsibilities, including procurement, inventory management and logistics.
“I’ve built my company with my passion for food and clean eating at top of mind,” says Taylor. “I’m pleased that Peak Foods feels the same way about helping me expand the brand, while allowing me to build relationships that matter and maintain the head space needed to build the future of Blendtopia.”
The new partnership will expand the retail footprint and aggressively grow sales to appeal to health-conscious consumers of smoothies and juices. For Peak Foods, the investment by its joint owners, Interstate Food Group and Lakeside Foods, offers the opportunity to diversify its product portfolio.
Retail partners will benefit from Peak’s commitment to superior customer service and distribution capabilities. In the meantime, consumers who purchase Blendtopia will experience no changes to the product formulas or delivery disruptions to their online subscriptions.
