Smart Baking Co. products are now available at Wegmans. The Sanford, Florida-based bakery is supplying Smartcakes and Smartbuns to a select number of the chain’s stores, with the potential for expansion.
Our goal at Smart Baking Co. is to give everyone, regardless of dietary needs, delicious, healthy options,” said Dave Heuvel, co-founder and VP of sales. “The fact that we can now reach Wegmans’ extensive network of shoppers is a huge step toward that goal.”
Customers can find Smartcakes in the Natures aisle and Smartbuns in the gluten-free bread freezer section of the store.
Smartcakes, 38-calorie snack cakes, come in multiple flavors. They have 5 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein. Smartbuns are a 63-calorie sandwich buns that have 9 grams of protein and 11 grams of fiber.
The company also produces a breakfast item similar to a muffin top, the Smartmuf’n. All of Smart Baking Co.’s products are gluten free, wheat free, diabetic friendly, keto friendly and non-GMO.
In addition to Wegmans, which is based in Rochester, New York, the products are available nationwide on the company’s website and on Amazon.
