Understanding the special needs of its senior citizen and disabled customer population during the coronavirus pandemic, Northgate González Market now will open all 41 stores starting Tuesday, March 17, at 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. for seniors 65-years and older and disabled.

“During these challenging times Northgate González Market is here to serve as your trusted partner in providing you and your family with all your food and grocery item needs.  We recognize the challenge facing seniors and other at-risk populations, and we need to address them by providing them an opportunity to shop for essentials without fear or trepidation. Our customers’ and store associates’ safety are our No.1 concern,” said Northgate Market Co-President Miguel González. “This is just one solution we are looking at to help Southern California residents sustain their health and nourishment needs.”

Stores will remain open for the general public 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

“Just as Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said on Monday, we ask younger shoppers to allow seniors to step in front of the lines, so they get in and out as soon as possible,” González added. “The spirit of Mayor Garcetti’s message was to ‘be kind to those at risk’ and that’s near and dear to our hearts.”

Northgate González Market is a Southern California supermarket chain headquartered in Anaheim. It operates 41 stores in Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego and Riverside counties, providing the highest quality merchandise, fresh and prepared foods and personal service.

Basha’s, Food City, AJ’s also plan special hours

To support the shopping needs of older adults during this critical time, starting Wednesday, March 18, all Bashas’, Food City and AJ’s grocery stores in Arizona will open from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Wednesdays for anyone age 65 and older.

Bashas’ reservation stores will be open from  6-7 a.m. for those 65 and older.
Shoppers will be required to show a valid I.D. at the door.
If there is a need for a caretaker, one caretaker is welcome, but will not be allowed to shop for themselves. All purchase limitations will remain in effect.
