Bob’s Red Mill Adds Almond To Line Of Protein Powders

Bob’s Red Mill will add Almond Protein Powder to its line of single-ingredient protein powders, which includes Hemp, Soy and Whey. This move is in response to consumer desire for plant-based protein powder options, with the niche category experiencing a strong increase in year-over-year demand. The newest offering provides 20 grams of protein per serving and boasts a neutral flavor and creamy texture that blends into beverages and foods.

Bob’s Red Mill Almond Protein Powder is made with only one ingredient – high-quality blanched almonds – which are finely ground and expeller pressed to remove the oil, creating a de-fatted vegan high protein powder. The non-GMO and gluten free powder can be mixed into smoothies and shakes as a daily supplement, or added to sauces, salad dressings and baked goods like pie crusts, cakes, cookies, pancakes and quick breads.

“Protein powders can have a reputation for strong flavors or textures, but our newest almond profile flips that notion on its head. Not only does it deliver high protein with only one clean ingredient, it blends seamlessly into nearly any recipe, so you can use it however you like,” said Matt Cox, Bob’s Red Mill VP of marketing. “Almond Protein Powder is a great option for fueling workouts and can be incorporated into both savory and sweet applications, all while adding the wholesome nutrition Bob’s Red Mill is known for.”

Almond-based products are a popular choice for gluten free, grain free and vegan diets, and interest has skyrocketed in recent years. Milwaukie, Oregon-based Bob’s Red Mill has seen this rise first-hand, with 41 percent of shoppers specifically looking for almond-based products due to their healthy nutritional profile, neutral flavor and versatile nature. Their new Almond Protein Powder is a source of fiber and calcium, as well as a source of iron and potassium.

Bob’s Red Mill Almond Protein Powder is available now for a suggested retail price of $18.49 per 14-oz. bag, alongside the brand’s full line of protein powders, at bobsredmill.com, Amazon and select natural and conventional grocers nationwide.
