Publix Super Markets will open a new 48,300 square-foot store May 26 in Morgan Road Plaza at 4293 South Shades Crest Road in Hoover, Alabama. The store, which will bring 135 jobs to the area, will be the fourth Publix in the city.
“Publix is proud to continue to grow in Hoover,” said Brenda Reid, community relations manager for Publix’s Atlanta Division. “We look forward to showcasing the Morgan Road store with its unique floor plan that enhances our ability serve more prepared foods in the deli. There is also a mezzanine sitting area where customers can enjoy their meal or catch up on emails.”
Publix offers contactless pay options and shopping services such as curbside pickup, grocery delivery powered by Instacart and pharmacy delivery.
The new store will feature traditional grocery, dairy and frozen food departments, as well as full-service bakery, deli, pharmacy, seafood, meat and fresh produce departments.
It also will offer indoor and outdoor café seating with social distancing measures, and Wi-Fi throughout the store.
The deli will carry Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, Chef Selections to go, made-to-order Pub-Subs, fresh soups and Publix Smokehouse Meats, as well as fried and oven roasted chicken.
In the produce department, shoppers will find organic as well as conventionally grown fresh fruits and vegetables. There also will be a broad selection of vegan items, exotic fruits and vegetables from around the world, as well as those locally grown.
The scratch bakery will offer an array of cakes, cookies and pies. Also featured will be an assortment of breads and rolls made fresh throughout the day.
The meat department will serve up custom cuts, including Publix private label all-natural and organic GreenWise beef, chicken, pork, lamb and turkey. Ready-to-cook meals will also be available.
In the seafood department, customers can select from fresh fin fish that is never frozen and seafood that is delivered to the store throughout the week. It includes wild and farm-raised varieties and a variety of shellfish options. There will also be fresh sushi.
The pharmacy will have a drive-thru window and feature traditional services. Publix pharmacies also offer COVID-19 vaccines while supplies last. No reservation needed.
