Amazon Fresh Opening Franconia, Virginia Store On May 27

Franconia Naperville

Amazon Fresh is opening its new grocery store in Franconia, Virginia, on May 27, making it the first in the greater Washington, D.C. area and the 13th in the country. The approximately 30,000-square-foot store is located at 7005 C Manchester Blvd. and will be open from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.

In addition to offering low prices, the store will support the community by creating hundreds of local jobs and by donating surplus food from the Amazon Fresh store to local food banks.

“We look forward to serving the Franconia community and welcoming customers into our doors,” said Nadeem Sheikh, store manager of the new Amazon Fresh Franconia grocery store. “In addition to low prices, customers will find a broad selection of high-quality food and innovative shopping features. We’re also proud that this store has created hundreds of good jobs for the local community.”

Amazon Fresh offers consistently low prices on a wide assortment of national brands and high-quality produce, meat and seafood, as well as a range of prepared foods made fresh in store every day – from fresh-baked bread and made-to-order pizzas to rotisserie chickens and hot sandwiches like the brisket panini. Prime members also have access to free, same-day pickup from the store.

The retailer also has introduced new ways to make grocery shopping more convenient like the Amazon Dash Cart, which enables customers to skip the checkout line, and new Alexa features to help customers manage their shopping lists and better navigate the store aisles.

The new store will offer 365 by Whole Foods Market organics, plus national brands like Coca-Cola and Kraft Mac and Cheese; local brands like Mason Dixie Biscuits, Bread Furst Bakery and Taharka Brothers Ice Cream; regional favorites like Duke’s Mayo and Boston Chowda; and new Amazon exclusive brands like Aplenty, Fresh and Cursive.

Customers will find low-priced items available to shop every day – including $0.15 cent bananas; $0.89 cent freshly baked bread; $1.79 freshly baked pizza slices; and $4.97 rotisserie chickens. As the doors open, the Amazon Fresh Franconia store also will offer deals on a variety of items across its aisles like $2.69 for a 12-pack of Coca-Cola, buy one get one free Lay’s chips (7.5-8 oz.), and 50 percent off Aplenty products.
