David has developed his career in the fast-paced food and grocery industry working with progressive food companies, developing and launching branded food/beverage propositions across global markets in high growth dynamic categories. David’s approach is backed by strong consumer and market research, providing thought leadership through an innovative approach to doing business and growing categories.
Prior to joining St Pierre Groupe, David was president and COO of the Happy Egg Co in the U.S. In this position, he created and launched from a standing start the free-range egg production model and proposition packaged as the Happy Egg brand in the U.S. – building a national branded business of some $40 million in only four years and creating a new segment in the $5 billion dollar U.S. egg industry.
Before Happy Egg, David was leading partner in a consulting firm specializing in the food and beverage sector responsible for a number of international projects across China/CEE/U.K. and has had great success in launching food brands in South Africa, Europe and the U.S. His experience spans a number of branded food categories including dairy, frozen, nutrition, egg, produce and pet.
David has a passion and energy that is unrivalled across the food sector and is a true pioneer in driving emerging categories and consumer trends.
