Winn-Dixie and its parent company, Southeastern Grocers, hosted a groundbreaking ceremony April 7 for its newest location at 611 E. Main St. in Apopka, Florida.
The groundbreaking ceremony included a presentation with remarks by Jordan Post, SVP of development for Southeastern Grocers; Randolph Bracy, Florida senator; Bryan Nelson, Apopka mayor; and John Strzalka, TCII Capital Group CFO. Apopka city officials, chamber of commerce members, SEG leadership and TCII Capital Group executives also attended the celebratory event in support of the new store.
Winn-Dixie has served the Apopka community for 36 years at its current location, located at 1565 U.S. 441 N. The new Apopka City Center location will provide customers with a shopping experience featuring fresh produce, high quality meats and seafood, as well as new categories with a wide product selection and specialty items in each department. The store will also feature a new liquor store with a selection of beer, wine and spirits.
The new store will create more than 100 jobs for the Apopka community.
