Pete’s Market Creates Efficiencies, Processes With LOC Software

Pete’s Fresh Market has grown to 17 locations by integrating policy, practices, partnerships and technology. Much of their success comes from staying engaged with their customers, by hiring inside the community, to hosting events at the store locations.

With this growth comes challenges, such as maintaining inventory and warehousing. LOC Software’s flexibility allows Pete’s to be agile with purchasing and getting product to their customers, especially these days. The core data structure with LOC software ensures customer transaction data flows seamlessly from Point of Sale to back office, allowing Pete’s to know which stores have product and stay on top of warehouse counts at all times.  

This year while keeping up with the high customer demand and challenges from the pandemic, Pete’s IT team upgraded operating systems for all Point of Sale lanes at every store. Working with their Value added Reseller, POS Plus, they were able to stay on budget, meet deadlines and complete a smooth project. “POS Plus is an extension of our own IT team. They are available and skilled,” said Stephanie Dremonas, second generation owner at Pete’s Fresh Market.

POS Plus President Bob Satterfield also expresses the importance of partnerships and knowing customer needs, “Our team enjoys working alongside Pete’s Fresh Market IT and management teams to help them realize and implement their technology needs. It’s refreshing to see their vision come to fruition, and we are happy to play a small part,” he said. 

Having a solid partnership with LOC and POS Plus, Pete’s has used LOC software from their corporate host down to stores, creating efficiencies and processes that work for their organization. This has allowed Pete’s to hone in on their pricing, accounting, and front-end procedures to help their business grow today and in the future. “The biggest advantage is accessing accurate data quickly,” said Dremonas. 

Pete’s began their journey as a full-service produce stand on the southside of Chicago. While still providing produce delivered daily, they have full-service kitchens, bakeries and deli. In addition, Pete’s has educated butchers on staff to answer all customer questions and help them select the best cuts.
