Tops Promotes Payne To VP Of Marketing And Promotional Strategy

Williamsville, New York-based Tops Friendly Markets, a full-service grocery retailer, has promoted Aaron Payne to the role of VP of marketing and promotional strategy as part of the Shared Services Center. The SSC supports both Tops Friendly Markets and Price Chopper/Market 32, which formally merged fall 2021.

In this role, Payne will lead a team responsible for creating and implementing marketing strategy and promotional plans to achieve desired business goals for Price Chopper, Market 32 and Tops Markets. Through collaboration with leadership in marketing, merchandising, IT and the individual operating companies, he will drive initiatives aimed at strengthening the overall market position.

Payne has been with Tops for 21 years, most recently serving in the capacity of director of advertising. He is a resident of Amherst, New York.

Tops Markets operates 150 grocery stores in New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont, including five that are run by franchisees. As the largest private, for-profit employer in Western New York, with more than 14,000 employees, the company said it is dedicated to providing sustainably sourced, high-quality products while helping its communities flourish via support for programs that eradicate hunger and disease, educate youth and reduce environmental waste and energy consumption.
