Greenwood, Mississippi-based Heartland Catfish Company has announced a co-sponsored contest with the Viking Cooking School and The Catfish Institute. Contest participants are encouraged to enter an original recipe through July 22.
“Catfish is a healthy, delicious protein that we love to celebrate,” said Jonathan Mills, VP of sales and marketing. “We encourage our customers and anyone who loves catfish to enter this contest with the unique experience of having your dish prepared and enhanced by a professional chef.”
The contest winner will have their recipe prepared by chef Loren Leflore from the Viking Cooking School, which will premiere on the company’s YouTube channel with a cooking-show style video and be featured on its social platforms.
The winner will also receive a supply of Heartland Catfish shipped to their home along with a prize bag. The second-place winner will also receive a prize bag and have their recipe featured on the company website.
Heartland Catfish is seeking creative recipes that highlight the fish as the main ingredient. Recipes will be scored on perceived technical complexity, creativity and menu appeal.
The first and second place winners will be announced in August during National Catfish Month.
