Miner’s Keeps Family Connection As New President Is Named

Miner's

Hermantown, Minnesota-based Miner’s, parent company of Super One Foods, has announced Patrick Miner as its new president. He succeeds Jim Miner Jr., who will continue to lead the company as CEO.

Most recently, Patrick Miner served as VP and chief investment and information officer of the company. In recent years, he also served the company as a store director and district manager. He has been instrumental in the development and successes of the Super One Foods and Super One Liquor operations.

Jim Miner Jr. will be transitioning from president while remaining CEO. Under his direction, Super One Foods has grown, in part, through his pursuit of buying and promoting the products it sells while enhancing the brand in each market it serves.

“It’s been an honor to serve the company for more than 55 years,” Jim Miner Jr. said. “My dad and grandfather would be very proud of what my siblings, our children and our entire team have accomplished. The values and work ethic instilled in all of us led to strong results, and we were able to grow in a very competitive environment.”

As president, Patrick Miner will oversee internal operations, contribute to sales innovations, formulate plans for strategic business development, help to build strong customer relationships and maximize the company’s operating performance to achieve its financial goals. In addition, he will continue to lead the store development team charged with future store acquisitions and expansions.

“Growing up in this business, I have been fortunate to be mentored by some incredibly talented leaders throughout my career at Miner’s,” he said.

“The strong foundation of our company has been built by generations of talented people committed to carry out our core values, while striving to exceed customer expectations in every marketplace we serve. I am proud that the family and the Super One Team has entrusted in me to continue to lead us successfully into the future.”

The Miner family opened its first store nearly 80 years ago and has continued to expand in and around the region since the 1940s. Miner’s continues to grow with the purchase of Angeli Foods in Iron River, Michigan, along with the completed construction of a new 38,000-square-foot grocery store and 8,000-square-foot liquor store in Crosby, Minnesota.

Miner’s operates 32 retail grocery stores, one hardware store and 11 liquor stores in three states under the Super One Foods, Marketplace Foods, County Market, Ace Hardware and Super One Liquor banners. The company’s team includes more than 3,000 employees. In addition, it has a 200,000-square-foot distribution center and a trucking division.
