Piggly Wiggly hosted its 16th Annual Retail and Vendor Charity Golf Outing July 19 in Wisconsin to raise funds for three nonprofit organizations to fight hunger and to promote food security.

The outing brought Piggly Wiggly Midwest employees, franchise owners, vendors and partners together for an event in support of local Wisconsin communities.

In celebration of the event, Piggly Wiggly Midwest made a $100,000 donation to the following organizations:

  • Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin – Milwaukee, Wisconsin;
  • Hunger Task Force – Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and
  • Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin – Madison, Wisconsin.

“As the hunger epidemic continues to impact so many Americans, we’re focused on strengthening families in the places we call home,” said Mark McGowan, SVP, retail, C&S Wholesale Grocers.

“We are proud to join forces with some of the community’s most effective hunger relief organizations to make a difference in the lives of the many children and families throughout the state of Wisconsin.”

Building on its more than 100-year history in the grocery business, Piggly Wiggly continues to grow its presence with stores throughout the Midwest, South and Northeast. C&S Wholesale Grocers operates corporate stores and services independent franchisees under a chain-style model.
