SpartanNash celebrated the opening of its newly remodeled Knapp’s Corner D&W Fresh Market Aug. 10. Located at 2022 Apple Orchard Ave. NE in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the D&W Fresh Market grocery store has been upgraded to feature a modern look and provide a better shopping experience.

The renovated store features more than 160 local brands, offering various products from Michigan-grown mushrooms to Bell’s Brewery items. The store will also offer artisan sandwiches and paninis, expanded specialty offerings of cheese, crackers and charcuterie, 23 varieties of sushi and an extensive wine collection for customers.

“At SpartanNash, we strive to deliver the ingredients for a better life, and a big part of achieving that goal is making sure that we provide the highest quality and best variety of products within an enjoyable shopping environment,” said Tom Swanson, EVP and general manager, corporate retail.

“D&W Fresh Market is a well-respected brand in West Michigan and these new store upgrades, services and exclusive offerings are a way of thanking our community for trusting us as their go-to store.”

The store remodel introduced an updated color scheme, clear signage and refreshed store layout. To celebrate, the D&W Fresh Market team hosted a community event with ribbon cutting and is offering a variety of deals for current and new shoppers.

SpartanNash is a distributor, wholesaler and retailer with a global supply chain network. The company distributes grocery and household goods, including its Our Family portfolio of products, to locations in all 50 states, in addition to distributing to the District of Columbia, Europe, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Honduras, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Djibouti, Korea and Japan.

In addition, the company owns and operates 147 supermarkets under the banners of Family Fare, Martin’s Super Markets and D&W Fresh Market.

After the past two years of uncertainty and changed plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we all hoped that 2022 might bring back a sense of normalcy.

However, with government and independent data confirming 40 years of inflation highs and Wall Street entering a bear market, grocers now have new challenges to face.

In this webinar, we will hear from Todd Taylor of Neighborhood Fresh and Darlene Murphy of Metcalfe’s Market about why shopper loyalty is so important in this time of inflation.
