Talking Rain, Olive Crest Partner For Donation Campaign

Olive Crest Talking Rain

Throughout August, with the purchase of every bottle of Talking Rain’s Sparkling Ice sold in select Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions stores in Southern California, the company will donate .10 cents to Olive Crest.

“Every child deserves safety and security. At Talking Rain, we believe in doing our part to enrich our communities and build a better future for our kids. We are proud to support Olive Crest in their mission to strengthen, equip, and restore children and families in crisis,” said Nina Morrison, senior VP of community experience at Talking Rain.

In partnerships with national grocers, Olive Crest’s cause marketing campaigns have raised more than $2 million in support for child abuse prevention, allowing their programs to provide food, safe homes, counseling to kids dealing with trauma and foster and adoption care.

“We are grateful to our sponsors for making everything possible,” said Rhonda Tagge, national director, Olive Crest. “The support allows us to transform the lives of at-risk children and families through intervention and education, in the hopes to put an end to the cycle of abuse before it happens.”

Olive Crest’s approach has developed into a national program through its Child Abuse Stops Here Network, raising awareness and support for abused and neglected children across the U.S. “Partnerships are at the heart of our model, and we believe support is best given at the local level and by organizations in the same neighborhood as children in crisis,” Tagge said.

In October, Mission Foods and Olive Crest Child Abuse Stops Here Network will partner in a national sweepstakes for a DisneyWorld adventure. All proceeds support children and families in crisis through its partnering agencies.

Smart & Final raises funds yearly through a register campaign through its Child Abuse Stops Here Network to support the Arizona-based agency, Christian Family Care and Northern California agency, Safe Refuge for Children+Families and Olive Crest southern California region.  Additionally, campaigns have awarded families with free groceries for a year through an online giveaway.

In 2021, Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions, along with Don Francisco Coffee, S&W Beans, California Olive Ranch and Toyota, ran a sweepstakes for a new car and surprised an Olive Crest family in southern California. In 2020, Kroger/Food4Less Chicago partnered with Olive Crest Child Abuse Stops Here Network to raise funds through a register campaign to support local foster agency, Lydia Home.

Since 1973, Olive Crest has served 4,000 children and families each day throughout California, Nevada and the Pacific Northwest.

After the past two years of uncertainty and changed plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we all hoped that 2022 might bring back a sense of normalcy.

However, with government and independent data confirming 40 years of inflation highs and Wall Street entering a bear market, grocers now have new challenges to face.

In this webinar, we will hear from Todd Taylor of Neighborhood Fresh and Darlene Murphy of Metcalfe’s Market about why shopper loyalty is so important in this time of inflation.
