Cardenas Markets Names Photo Submission Contest Recipients

Ontario, California-based Cardenas Markets has announced the winners of its annual “La Catrina Mas Catrina” photo submission contest.

This year’s winners are: 

  • First place: Lisbeth S. from Corona, California, received a $500 Sephora gift card;
  • Second place: Alma C. from East Palo Alto, California, won a $300 Ulta Beauty gift card; and
  • Third place: Nancy M. from Phoenix, Arizona, was awarded $100 MAC Cosmetics gift card.

Entrants were encouraged to submit a photo of themselves with La Catrina style sugar skull make-up through the company’s website. 

“Dia de Los Muertos is a very special and meaningful holiday in Hispanic cultures, and one of the most recognizable figures during this special time is La Catrina,” said Adam Salgado, CMO.

“Cardenas Markets is committed to providing meaningful experiences that celebrate our rich culture and its traditions. This year, we had more than 500 entries, and we are so delighted that this year’s participants shared their unique traditions and creativity with us.”
