Rouses Markets Hires Industry Executives To New Roles

Rouses Markets
Ron Bonacci and Brian Bosworth

Earlier this year, Schriever, Louisiana-based Rouses Markets welcomed Ron Bonacci as VP of advertising and marketing and Brian Bosworth as VP of center store. Both report to CEO Donny Rouse.

“We are truly excited about the knowledge and leadership both Ron and Brian bring; I am delighted to have them aboard to help us grow and succeed in the future,” Rouse said.

“Right now, we are very focused on how we can use data and feedback to benefit and reward our customers, as well as help our teams make the most informed decisions for our business. Ron and Brian both bring invaluable expertise in these areas.”

In the newly created role of VP of advertising and marketing, Bonacci is leading Rouses Markets’ shift to customer-centric promotions to help drive shopper retention and growth. He formerly served as VP of advertising and marketing for Weis Markets.

In Bonacci’s long career in the supermarket industry, he has been an acknowledged expert in the area of customer-centric retailing. He formerly headed marketing and advertising at United Supermarkets, a division of Albertsons, in Lubbock, Texas. He also worked in similar positions as VP of advertising and marketing for both Food City and S&H Solutions.

Earlier in his career, he worked for Kroger in store operations, category management, merchandising and loyalty marketing, where he launched and managed the Kroger Plus Card. He also served in various positions for the National Grocers Association.

As VP of center store, Bosworth oversees grocery, general merchandise, health and beauty care, frozen food, dairy and alcoholic beverages. His additional responsibilities include center store field merchandising and pricing.

Bosworth brings four decades of experience in the grocery industry to Rouses. Most recently, he was senior director of center store merchandising and sales at Weis Markets. He joined Weis in 2011 as a category manager, and by 2013, he had moved into the role of sales manager for the firm. In 2014, he was named director of center store merchandising. In 2020, he was named senior director of center store merchandising and sales. Before his tenure at Weis, Bosworth held category manager and sales manager roles at A&P and Pathmark.

Since opening its first store in 1960, Rouses Markets has grown to operate 63 stores across three states and more than 7,000 team members, and additional stores are under construction. Donny Rouse is the third generation to run the business started by his grandfather, Anthony J. Rouse Sr.

Rouses Markets is the official supermarket of the New Orleans Saints. It has supported local food banks and food pantries, charities and fundraisers, festivals and events across the Gulf Coast.
