Fareway Stores held a grand opening Feb. 6 for a 24,000-square-foot store at Chatham Avenue and Highway 28 in Norwalk, Iowa, that replaces a previous location in the city.

“We are excited to further serve the thriving community of Norwalk with a new, larger and updated store,” said Fareway CEO Reynolds W. Cramer

“We want to thank the community and local officials for continuing to support Fareway.”

The new location has a fresh look and feel, with additional natural lighting and updated interior, as well as better vehicle access and flow. In addition, the building includes the use of solar panels, standby power generation and soon-to-come upgraded EV-charging stations.

“We are thrilled to celebrate Fareway’s commitment into Norwalk,” said Lauren Ebensteiner, Norwalk executive director.

“As we continue our efforts to make Norwalk a great place to live, work and play, Fareway’s new store will play a key role in that mission.”

The store will be led by Manager Craig Choate and Market Manager Todd Hanson.
