Two former Paradis Shop ‘n Save Supermarkets in Fort Kent and Madawaska, Maine, will make their debut as Hannaford Supermarkets on April 12.

Hannaford acquired the locations, which it had supplied and supported, earlier this year. Under the Hannaford banner, they will feature the grocer’s offerings, including fresh-cut fruit, grab-and-go sandwiches and salads and ready-to-eat entrees.

Shoppers will also continue to find Hannaford’s brand offerings, including Taste of Inspirations, Hannaford and Nature’s Promise, as well as a selection of products from local farms and producers.

“While we’ve long been connected to Fort Kent and Madawaska, we are excited to officially become a part of these outstanding communities,” said Todd Bullen, Hannaford’s VP of retail operations. “We look forward to welcoming shoppers through our doors as they discover the fresh products, dependable value and convenient offerings available at our stores.”

Customers can also participate in My Hannaford Rewards, a program that allows members to earn 2 percent rewards on all private brand purchases and receive personalized coupons.

In celebration of the openings, My Hannaford Rewards customers will receive 4 percent rewards on all private brand purchases at the stores from April 12-16.

The Fort Kent store employs about 80 full- and part-time associates, while Madawaska store has as many as 60 employees.

In celebration of the grand openings, Hannaford will donate $5,000 to the Aroostook County Action Program, which provides programs that support personal, economic and community growth.

The addition of the stores will bring the number of Hannaford locations to 189, including 68 in Maine.
