Claire Flannery, director of communications for Greenridge Naturals, talked with The Shelby Report about the company’s recent rebranding and new products coming later this year.

Illinois-based Greenridge was founded in 2008 by Michael and Sebastian Madej, who wanted to produce clean, simple meats – such as meat sticks, sausages and deli meats – made with premium ingredients.

“We have a uniquely European approach to meat making, from our recipe testing and development to sourcing, trimming, seasoning and smoking,” Flannery explained.

“Our meats are seasoned with spices sourced throughout Europe and blended in-house, and then naturally hardwood smoked (no liquids) and delivered fresh from our headquarters in Chicago.”

The company recently transitioned from Greenridge Farm to Greenridge Naturals. According to Flannery, the new name reflects its dedication to producing “high-quality, health-forward meats.”

“As Greenridge continues to grow, rebranding with a cleaner, more minimal look made sense … As more consumers prioritize their health, our growing Naturals line emphasizes clean eating with simple and natural ingredients,” she said.

“We’ve been delivering clean-label meats to our customers for over 10 years and implementing the Greenridge Naturals name reflects our dedication to producing high-quality, health-forward meats.”

In addition, the company plans to release new 1-ounce snack sticks soon. The product is an updated format of its popular all-natural beef sticks. Available in three flavors and two proteins (grass-fed beef and antibiotic-free chicken), the new format is ideal for a health-conscious, on-the-go consumer looking for a high-quality snacking option.

The new snack sticks will debut at CVS with Original and Jalapeno and Cheddar Beef flavors. Going into 2025, they will appear at several other retailers nationwide. “A key differentiator within the snacking category is that Greenridge products are all-natural, fresh and refrigerated,” Flannery said. “Unlike many meat snack offerings in the market, our products are free from additives and made fresh daily.”

The company’s Naturals line, which makes up about 90 percent of its product portfolio, includes meats that are lower in sodium than the USDA average, less sugar (often zero), with no MSG, soy or gluten.

“Consumers know they are getting a healthier option without sacrificing flavor,” Flannery said.
