Publix Super Markets opened a new 48,000 square-foot store July 31 in the Shoppes at Fort Toulouse in Wetumpka, Alabama.
The store features departments for grocery, dairy, frozen food, seafood, meat and fresh produce, as well as a full-service bakery, deli and pharmacy with a drive-thru.
“We are very excited for the opening of Publix at the Shoppes at Fort Toulouse in Wetumpka,” said Nicole Krauss, Publix media relations manager. “We look forward to and providing premier service, bringing quality products and welcoming new customers from the community of Wetumpka.”
The Alabama Publix store will have a deli counter with Boar’s Head meats and cheeses. Its deli also offers an international selection of olives and more than 200 artisan cheeses. The produce department carries organic and conventionally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables.

The store has a meat department with custom cuts, including Publix private label all-natural and organic GreenWise chicken. The seafood department carries fresh seafood and wild and farm-raised fish, as well as a variety of shellfish.
The wine department offers a variety of premium and specialty wines from the U.S. and around the world, along with a large selection of champagnes and sparkling wines. It also has fine wines made with organic grapes.
Lastly, the pharmacy will include a variety of body care products and natural and conventional vitamins, minerals and supplements.
Publix continues to provide contactless pay options and services such grocery delivery, powered by Instacart and curbside pharmacy.
The Lakeland, Florida-based grocer has also been adding to its number of new and remodeled locations in the Sunshine State, including supermarkets in Estero, Melbourne, Oviedo, Miami, Royal Palm Beach, Sarasota, Fort Myers and Boynton Beach.
