Publix will reopen its Monument Road location in Jacksonville at 8 a.m. Thursday. The store replaces an older one that was torn down to make room for the new, larger store.

“We are extremely excited about the reopening and look forward to serving our customers and the community again,” said Dwaine Stevens, media and community relations manager for Lakeland, Florida-based Publix. “Our neighbors and friends from this local community have been very supportive of us during this closure and we are deeply appreciative.”

The 53,785-s.f. store at Cobblestone Crossing will offer the traditional grocery, meat, produce, dairy and frozen food departments and also will include a pharmacy as well as bakery, deli, floral, and fresh seafood departments.

The store will employ about 160 people.
