New Seasons Market announced earlier this week the hire of two new executives filling new positions for the Portland-owned grocery chain, Sustainable Business Oregon reports.

Michelle Lantow, former CFO and, later, president at Lucy Activewear, joins New Seasons as it first CAO. Lantow also is a former CFO for McCormick and Schmicks.

Chris Tjersland, formerly managing partner at consumer goods marketing firm Ultimate Source Northwest, joins as New Seasons’ first private brand development manager. His work will be focused on developing the New Seasons Market private label.

Officials at New Seasons said the additional executives reflect the needs of a growing company.

New Seasons is working on its 13th store in Northeast Portland and has more than 2,300 employees.

“The talents, experience and passion both Chris and Michelle bring to New Seasons Market are remarkable. With Michelle we have found a gifted systems development, implementation and management leader who will help us increase our support structures,” said New Seasons Market’s CEO Lisa Sedlar in a news release. “With Chris we have found an experienced and innovative product-development specialist who can help us continue creating locally sourced, high-quality, house-branded products that offer our customers a great value.”

New Seasons, vocal about its commitment to community, will donate an unspecified portion of the sales of its private label products to area nonprofits.
