Reser’s New Behind-The-Glass Deli Salads Offer On-Trend Flavors

Reser’s has introduced a new deli lineup that includes its Stonemill Kitchens brand of fresh artisan salads, offering retailers on-trend flavors to increase sales behind the deli case glass.

Reser’s unveiled its newest refrigerated products to the industry last month at the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association’s (IDDBA) annual seminar and expo in Orlando, Fla.

The deli continues to be a “meal destination” for busy consumers of all ethnicities and ages, Reser’s says. According to IDDBA’s “What’s in Store 2013” annual trends report, “Service delis are saving the day—and often the evening—for time-strapped consumers searching for convenient meals and snacks.”

“Deli operators need to strike a balance between offering specialty and core deli salads, especially in their bulk or behind-the-glass offerings,” says Peter Sirgy, EVP of sales and marketing for Reser’s. “Retailers have been asking for vibrant looking, on-trend salads that can enhance the look of their deli case, without requiring a lot of labor. And, consumer interest in grain-based salads, ethnic salads and healthier options is skyrocketing. These new salads offer the perfect combination of convenience, variety, and delicious flavors.”

This new artisan line of salads features ingredients like quinoa, bulgur, curry, fresh herbs, agave, nuts, ginger and tabouli. The line, Reser’s says, provides retailers variety without the cost of labor to prepare in-house.

The line includes: Traditional Tabouli Salad, Mandarin Wheatberry Salad, Sonoma Style Chicken Salad, Low Fat Agave Roasted Almond Chicken Salad, Cranberry Cashew Tuna Salad, Pesto Orzo Feta Salad, Caprese Salad and Thai Noodle Salad.
