Oikos Unites Stamos With Former Full House Co-Stars For Big Game

Dannon Oikos says it’s bringing former “Full House” stars John Stamos, Bob Saget and Dave Coulier together in America’s living rooms to show just how entertaining a better-for-you snack can be.

After making its mark as the first yogurt brand to advertise in the big game in 2012, Dannon Oikos returns for the second time by bringing these TV legends together in a memorable ad that will entertain fans in a lighthearted way.

“Our advertising during the big game helps educate Americans about how Dannon Oikos Greek yogurt fits into the fabric of American life,” said Sergio Fuster, chief marketing officer for The Dannon Co. “Our ad in 2012 was a big hit for us and helped encourage a lot of Americans to give Greek yogurt and Oikos a try. In 2014, we’re building on our success as the leading maker of yogurt by focusing on the lighter side of the big game with a very entertaining ad for the brand.”

Through online content, including the release of an ad teaser, the three men show America that a healthy snack like Dannon Oikos Nonfat yogurt can be both hilariously entertaining and delicious, according to The Dannon Co. Stamos began his partnership with Dannon Oikos in 2011; and the brand says it is eager to build on the collaboration with the addition of Saget and Coulier.

“We are always trying to find innovative ways to help Americans make better food and snack choices, which is why we’re advertising in the single biggest TV viewing event of the year,” said Michael Neuwirth, senior director of public relations for The Dannon Co. “Our participation in the big game is another opportunity for us to educate Americans about how Dannon Oikos Nonfat yogurt can be a deliciously better-for-you part of every day, especially game day, a day not always associated with the most healthful food choices.”

The Dannon Oikos advertisement will run during the fourth quarter of the game on Feb. 2 and is part of a fully-integrated campaign, including an experiential activation in New York City and the launch of Dannon Oikos food trucks. The experiential activation will begin Jan. 29 to give New Yorkers an opportunity to re-associate Dannon Oikos yogurt with a better-for-you game day celebration.

Dannon says it also chose a unique approach to creating the ad. The concept for the commercial was crowdsourced among a select group of talent from Poptent, the video production platform that enables brands and agencies to collaborate with more than 70,000 independent filmmakers from around the world.
